Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Examen Pte Ltd (“Examen”, “we”, “us”) is a business consultancy and technology company based in Singapore. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

We handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). Where we deal with individuals in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we also apply the standards of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit the enquiry form on our contact page, we collect the details you enter: your name, company, work email address, phone number (optional), the type of support you are looking for, and the content of your message. Our form also records the IP address and the date and time of the submission, which we use to detect spam and abuse.

If you contact us by phone or email instead, we keep the contact details and correspondence you provide.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and security systems record standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of access. This is used to keep the site running, diagnose faults and protect it against attacks.

We do not run advertising trackers on this website, and we do not use analytics or profiling tools to build a picture of you as an individual.

Why we use it, and on what basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss a possible engagement. Under the PDPA we rely on the consent you give when you submit the form; under the GDPR, on steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To deliver our services where you become a client, and to administer the relationship. GDPR basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To keep the website secure and working, prevent spam and investigate misuse. GDPR basis: our legitimate interests in protecting our systems (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations in Singapore and elsewhere. GDPR basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your details for marketing unrelated to your enquiry without asking you first.

Cookies

This website uses only cookies that are necessary for it to function — for example to maintain your session, remember form state and protect against cross-site request forgery. If you log in to the site as an administrator, WordPress sets additional cookies to keep you signed in.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, including the enquiry form, from working properly.

Who else is involved

We share personal data only where it is needed to run our business, and only with organisations bound to protect it:

  • Our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its database and keeps server logs.
  • Website security services, which inspect traffic to block attacks and spam.
  • Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used on this site. Your browser requests these files from Google’s servers, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
  • Professional advisers and service providers (for example accountants or IT support) where necessary, and public authorities where we are legally required to disclose information.

Transfers outside Singapore

We work with international clients and use service providers located outside Singapore, so your personal data may be transferred and stored abroad. When this happens we take steps to ensure the recipient is bound to a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, and, where GDPR applies, we rely on an adequacy decision or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 24 months, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us, and then deleted. Records relating to clients are kept for the duration of the engagement and afterwards for as long as required by Singapore’s accounting, tax and limitation rules. Technical and security logs are kept for a short period, typically no longer than 12 months.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to the systems holding enquiry data is restricted to people who need it, and we apply security updates and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to a standard appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you and information on how it has been used or disclosed, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, and withdraw your consent to our continued use of it.

If the GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month, and will tell you if we need longer or need to verify your identity first. Withdrawing consent will not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it, and may mean we can no longer provide a service to you.

Children

This website and our services are aimed at businesses, not at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and the current version is always the one published on this page.
